Gala Fundraiser Performance in the Gallery

Sunday 14 August   |   4pm to 7pm

Northern Rivers Community Gallery (NRCG), Ballina is presenting a gala performance by Shelly Brown with her award winning original songs to raise funds for the Gallery’s travelling exhibition program.

The recent, Alice Springs Beanie Festival ‘Colours of the Country III’, exhibition from the Northern Territory was presented free and attracted over 2,500 visitors to the Gallery who enjoyed this unique, fun cultural experience.

The NRCG invites the community to support the continuation of their exciting exhibition program with a wonderful evening of ‘Music in the Gallery’ with Shelly Brown on Sunday 14 August surrounded by the stunning artworks of local artist Susan Jacobsen.

Shelly Brown is a force of nature. Subtle, but powerful like the tides. Be sure to experience Shelly’s mesmerising vocals at least once in your life. Shelly’s jazz band featuring Dan Brown, Thierry Fossemalle and Pete Wilkins perform a stunning rhythm and deep groove. The set will build, from intimate and poetic, to a powerfully heartfelt alchemy of soul music.

Internationally renowned icon of the Australian Blues music scene, Lloyd Spiegel, says “Shelly has one of those incredibly rare voices that reaches deep into your soul and controls you at will. Utterly captivating, dangerously powerful and honest as it comes. The best I've ever known.”

This special Gala performance event is on Sunday 14 August 2016 from 4pm to 7pm, tickets are $40 per person and bookings are essential.
