BOLDsparks - Lifelong Learning Program
WHAT TO EXPECT?
Bold Sparks- Lifelong Learning Program is a monthly visual arts program for residents of aged care facilities in Ballina and their support staff that takes place in the safe, accessible Northern Rivers Community Gallery.
Each 2 hour program is designed to introduce different themes, art materials and approaches, with an emphasis on fun, hands-on activities that focus on the participant’s interests and abilities. Activities are often inspired by local Northern Rivers artists and current exhibitions at the Gallery.
Participants are invited to make new connections through stimulating conversations and hands-on creative expression- sharing ideas, expressing emotions and recalling memories. A delicious morning tea provides an opportunity to reflect and connect. Participation in this socially inclusive program can lead to improved self-confidence, wellbeing and quality of life.
An online program kit contains activity sheets that can be downloaded to support care providers and participants to continue to learn and create at their own pace in their aged care facility. Each activity sheet includes step-by-step instructions, photos of the activity, discussion questions and links.
