Ignite Studios @ NRCG is presenting two summer fun workshops in January by our current visiting Artist-in-Residence, Carolyn Cardinet. Carolyn is a multi-disciplinary artist from Melbourne who creates sculptural works from discarded single use plastic and objects. These workshops are FREE as part of the Ignite Studios @ NRCG visiting Artist-in-Residence community outreach program for ages 6+.

Carolyn is offering two workshops ‘Deep Sea Creatures’ and ‘Insect Hotel’ for the whole family to enjoy.

All materials included but you can also bring along some single use plastic waste to incorporate into your artwork.

PLACES ARE LIMITED AND BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL TO SECURE A PLACE.

Deep Sea Creatures | Morning Session // 10.00am to 12.00pm

Participants will learn about what happens to your waste & plastic with a power point presentation with time for Q & A.
Following a Rethink session on habits and design, the participants will be given the opportunity to
create an endangered creature of our deep blue seas. The result of the workshop will be displayed
for all to view the creativity of these new eco-warriors.

Insect Hotel | Afternoon Session // 2.00pm to 4.00pm

Participants will learn about the importance of insects, their protection in the wild and make your very own ‘Insect Hotel’ from
repurposed materials. Starting with a power point presentation and time for Q & A, kids will then make their own ‘Insect Hotel’ to take home to ornate and offer shelter for all insects in their garden.

If attending both sessions - please book into both sessions.
