Andrew Antoniou | Drawing from the Imagination Workshop MASTERCLASS

This two day workshop will provide participants with new ways to explore the picture plane with mark making and collage techniques, enabling participants to develop their own personal imagery.
Different methods will be employed to engage participants in forming images through poetry, music and word association.
The aim of the class is to encourage participants to think about composition and visual dynamics within the image.
Working with charcoal the workshop will also develop technical skills that will enhance image making skills through a greater understanding of line and tone study. A great workshop of discovery for all skill levels.
Andrew Antoniou has been exhibiting professionally for the last 40 years and has had over 30 solo exhibitions in that time in Sydney, Melbourne, USA and UK.
His work is in many collections including the National Gallery of Australia and the Kedumba Drawing Collection. He has been a finalist in the Dobell Drawing Prise, National Works On Paper Prize the Hutchins Jacaranda, Adelaide Perry and Banyule drawing prizes. In 2014 he was the winner of the Swan Hill Drawing Prize. He is also a regular tutor at The National Art School & the ANU and has conducted dozens of workshops throughout NSW, Victoria and Queensland.
MATERIALS LIST REQUIRED
- 3 x medium soft charcoal pencils
- 1 x box medium charchoal
- 3 x conte crayons (black)
- 1 x box coloures pastels (choose the least expensive)
- Sketch book for taking notes
