Narelle Bretherton  |  Small Moments

8 May - 30 June 2019

This exhibition showcases new series of small paintings by Narelle Bretherton about small moments. Narelle’s intimate paintings capture her everyday. Documenting time and place evoking the nostalgic and familiar.

Bretherton is originally from Melbourne and studied Fine Art at the Victorian College of the Arts. She has been painting for many years. She has always lived by the sea and Lennox Head is now home. Bretherton is a member of the Lennox Arts Collective, a gallery and workshop space in Lennox Head, NSW.

The artist finds inspiration in the everyday. Her small and intimate realist paintings on plywood document place and time, small often unnoticed moments and places that colour our lives. Her recent body of work hopes to capture the essence of her coastal town and the nostalgic feel of a simpler time...documenting the last of the beach shacks, buildings, landscapes and caravans around her home.

Launch Event: Thursday 9 May 2019 5.30pm - 7.30pm
