Nagula Jarndu (saltwater woman in the local Yawuru language) offers handcrafted textiles and unique homewares made by Indigenous women in the heart of Broome.

Nagula Jarndu (Saltwater Woman) is a not-for-profit organisation led by seven Yawuru women directors and supported by over 150 Indigenous women members. We began in 1987 as a resource centre to preserve Yawuru language and culture and, over time, we have transformed into a vibrant arts and textiles centre.

With a strategic focus on social enterprise, we're all about empowering Aboriginal women to produce unique, handcrafted textiles featuring motifs and colours from the Kimberley’s unique environment. Our artists engage with the wider Arts community and shine at events like the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair and Revealed in Perth, plus many other exhibitions across Australia.

Every single piece created here is unique. From high end designs on quality base fabrics, linens, silks and cottons for the textile lovers to delightful gifts, there is something for everyone.
