Georgie Maddox  |  Secret Female Signatures

Secret Female Signatures is a solo exhibition by local Northern NSW artist Georgie Maddox. The exhibition is designed to give women a voice through the powerful medium of visual art. Postcards on display have been received anonymously by the artist from women from all walks of life and have served as inspiration for the larger artworks exhibited.

Georgie has responded to the collection of postcards received predominately through abstraction, as she believes abstract artwork has the ability to be universally emotive. George’s core desire is to embrace, strengthen and celebrate women through this current collection. Although a solo exhibition by the artist, there are numerous anonymous collaborators whose messages of inspiration are also on display.

Georgie was a finalist in last years prestigious Mosman Art Prize, as well as the Brisbane Art Prize and Gosford Regional Overflow exhibition. She has exhibited extensively both nationally and internationally.
