Ignite Ceramics Throwing Studio
Ignite Ceramics Throwing Studio is a 6-wheel community facility available for hire by individuals and groups for independent work, or by experienced ceramicists wishing to run workshops. The studio is a self-managed space, and prior experience on the wheel is required, to ensure the space is kept safe, clean and well maintained for all users.
Use of the Ignite Ceramics Throwing Studio is for approved members only.

Opening Hours
Thursday and Friday | Closed public holidays.
Morning Session: 9.30am - 12.30pm | Afternoon Session: 1pm - 4pm
Individual hires outside of our regular operating hours by experienced ceramicists may be considered in some cases.
Membership
Independent studio use is for approved members only. To become a member you must have basic experience with wheel throwing, and knowledge of studio safety, cleaning procedures and etiquette. Membership is free.
How To Become A Member:
- Complete a membership application below.
- If you have sufficient experience with ceramics, we will email you a copy of the Ignite Ceracmis User Handbook, and invite you to book an in-person studio induction. During this induction we will show you through the facility, review our Code of Conduct, Terms & Conditions of Use, health, safety and emergency policies and procedures, and answer any questions you may have about the facility.
- Upon completion of your studio induction, we will confirm your membership. You are now eligible to book independent sessions in the studio via our Studio Bookings & Workshops page.
Please Note:
- Support workers or parents/guardians accompanying studio users, are required to apply for Studio Membership.
- If you have no prior ceramics experience, we will not approve your membership (carers/parent excluded). You may reapply for membership after attending an introduction to the wheel workshop at Ignite Ceramics or with another studio.
Throwing Studio Hire Rates
All prices inclusive of GST. These fees are subject to annual review by Ballina Shire Council, and may increase slightly from year to year.
