Artist in Residence Program

The Ignite Studios Artist Residency provides a single artist time and space to expand on their artistic practice. Residencies may be between 2 – 12 weeks duration depending on the needs and practice of the artist and their proposed residency. The program is open to emerging and established Australian and international creatives from a range of disciplines, including visual art, design, writing, theatre, film, music, dance and performance.

In some cases NRCG may work with the resident artist to deliver an exhibition or public program outcome towards the end of the residency, such as a talk, workshop, open studio, or pop-up exhibition. This is an invitation, not a requirement of the residency, and does not impact selection.

Upon completion of the residency artists will be asked to provide a selection of high quality images of their work and/or process during the residency, and a written testimonial about their experience for use by NRCG and Ballina Shire Council.

Occasionally NRCG & Ignite Studios may offer funded or subsidised residency opportunities.

Make sure to sign-up to our E-News and social media platforms, Facebook and Instagram to be kept up to date on all of our programs.
