Where: Northern Rivers Community Gallery (NRCG), 44 Cherry Street (Cnr Crane), Ballina

Join us in the Gallery this October to launch the latest in a series of books on Mindfulness and Spiritual Consciousness by Fraser Coast based Indigenous author and artist Shawn Wondunna-Foley.

Shawn Wondunna-Foley, Author of the “Book Three” – Mindful spiritual quotes to inspire one to live a prosperous, abundant and awakened life is helping people to look inwards to discover one’s outward journey in life. The book is the outcome of a four week Artist in Residence in March 2019 at the Ignite Studios, Northern Rivers Community Gallery (NRCG) in Ballina, NSW.

Committed to drawing upon his artistic, creative writing and photographic skills to share his new teachings, learnings, pointings and mindfulness practices to encourage people to break free of self-limiting thoughts and explore the inner space of one’s spirit and divine presence in the this world.

Readers of his books have already expressed great enthusiasm in being able to for the first time enjoy a local book entirely photographed in and around Ballina and written on location at the Ignite Studios. The front cover image is of the iconic historical lighthouse in Ballina. It was purposely chosen as it serves as a metaphor about guiding people safely on their journey in life too.

“I was very impressed by the landscape, seascape and waterways in around Ballina. It’s easy to create great work when surrounded by such great beauty. It helps one to connect with one’s inner spirit, inner journey and inner way of being now.” – Shawn Wondunna-Foley said.

Shawn Wondunna-Foley, spent several years studying and meditating on the transcendence of pre-existing thinking and accession to a more profound state of being. After some time on the traditional country of his ancestors, the Butchulla (Badtaja) people of the K’gari (Fraser Island) and the Fraser Coast, he captured this realisation and awakened living in words. Book Three is the third in the series of artistic and informative self-published works which provides guidance to all in the ways of beingness – being one within and with all.

The Book Launch in the Gallery is on Thursday 3 October 2019, 5.30pm -6.30pm and is a free Gallery event. Shawn’s new book will be available for sale and signing at the launch. Visit the Gallery website for bookings and further information.
