Join Damon Gameau, director of award-winning documentaries That Sugar Film, 2040 and his latest project Regenerating Australia, and visual artist Julia Champtaloup in conversation about the essential nature of storytelling, visual narratives and other creative art forms in sparking conversations, inspiring community engagement, and encouraging active solutions to the challenges of our times. In his work as a filmmaker Damon has toured the country visiting communities, screening his films and opening hundreds of conversations about the ways we can, together, creatively solve the issues we face and build for a sustainable future. Julia’s exhibition Souvenirs for the Present encourages audiences to consider the landscape and environment with a personal view, and asks how we can engage in the present moment to find a deeper connection with nature, and support us to affect change.

Souvenirs for the Present is showing until 26 June 2022 at the Northern Rivers Community Gallery.
