Meet exhibiting artists Jacqueline and Dane Scotcher, for an informal tour of their exhibition Boundary Rider. The artists will provide insights into their creative process, the why and how of making the work, and their experience collaborating as artists and siblings.

Dane Scotcher has a decade-long career in video editing and motion design and has recently turned these skills to creative practice, making atmospheric time-based simulations that reflect his multisensory experiences in natural landscapes. Dane was selected a finalist in the Wollumbin Art Prize and Lethbridge Landscape Prize and completed an Advanced Diploma of Multimedia, Swinburne University. He currently lives and works in Lennox Head, on Bundjalung land.
Jacqueline Scotcher is a local artist whose studio practice is primarily abstract painting, working on themed series based around time, place and movement. She has presented solo exhibitions at Logan Art Gallery, Revival Art Gallery, Newstead Studios, Kick Arts Contemporary Arts Cairns, and Cairns Art Gallery, been selected as a finalist in the Wollumbin Art Prize, Lethbridge Landscape Prize, Byron Arts Magazine BAM Art Prize, and has had work commissioned for Crystalbrook Art Series Hotel Cairns. Her practice is studied as part of the QLD Senior Visual Arts Curriculum, and she holds a Doctorate in Philosophy (Creative Arts), Hons. Creative Industries and a Bachelor of Visual Arts.
Jacqueline Scotcher and Dane Scotcher’s exhibition Boundary Rider is on display at the Northern Rivers Community Gallery from 7 January to 1 March 2026.
