ABOUT THE ROLE
Position
We are seeking an appropriately experienced and motivated arts minded individual to provide a high level of administrative support to Council's Gallery operations. This position is responsible for supporting the development, implementation and promotion of innovative, high quality arts and cultural programming and activation plans of the Northern Rivers Community Gallery and Ignite Studios. The position will focus on overseeing the administration of a number of key Gallery operations, coordinating the Gallery shop, volunteer program and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Hours of work for this part time position are 14 hours per week spread across three days.

- Proven previous work experience in administration or office management with the ability to multitask and work with competing deadlines in a tightly resourced environment.
- Demonstrated experience providing services to a diverse audience through high level customer service, information provision, sales and program promotions using excellent written and spoken communication skills, and confidence to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated experience using accounting and financial software to process sales, manage stock and produce reports.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with colleagues and other stakeholders.

2022 SCU Graduate Award Winner Announced
Northern Rivers Community Gallery (NRCG) is thrilled to announce the 2022 Southern Cross University Graduate Exhibition Prize has been awarded to Jemima Patch-Taylor.
Jemima's work 'Luteal' encompasses both painting and animation, and captures the beauty, tone and rhythm of the Northern Rivers landscape in a poetic and powerfully emotive way.
The NRCG team is excited to exhibit Jemima's work in the Gallery in 2023.

Quick Response Exhibition Call Out
Northern Rivers Community Gallery (NRCG) has opened a special 'Quick Response' Call Out to apply for an exhibition in March-April 2023. This is a short turnaround, one-off exhibition call out for any artist(s) based in the Northern Rivers to apply for our 2023 program.
Applications Open - 9am Wednesday 2 November
Applications Closed - 5pm Tuesday 8 November
Exhibition Details
Install dates Monday 6 March - Tuesday 7 March 2023
Exhibition runs for an 8 week period - dates Wednesday 8 March - Sunday 30 April 2023
Applications are for Gallery 3 - with 12m floorspace and 7m wall space
An exhibition fee of $200 is applicable for the selected artist(s) and the gallery retains a 33% commission on all artworks sales.
Eligibility Criteria
- artists must have a body of work which is exhibition ready
- artworks must not have previously been shown at NRCG
- all support material is completed and supplied by the closing date
Selection is based on five key criteria:
Clarity - clear and cohesive exhibition rationale
Innovation - high level of aesthetic values and understanding
Quality - examples of work that demonstrate experience in producing safe, high quality artworks to maintain public gallery standards
Curatorial - relevance to other exhibitions in adjoining spaces or wider Gallery programming
Diversity - preference will be given to applicants who have not exhibited within the previous twelve month period.
